Lights-Alive provides free design services for our customers. Send us a few digital photos of your house and yard and we will design a custom show for you. While there will be a minimal fee up front for these services, all design fees will be credited back to your account when you place an order for your system from us.

The Christmas Kit sets the standard for Christmas lighting show systems. You've undoubtedly seen these same controllers synchronizing Christmas lights and music at many large zoos, major downtown areas, theme parks and even Las Vegas hotels. Now with a little help from Lights Alive, you can have a professional, yet affordable, system at your home or small business. Trees seem to come to life by changing color and "dancing" in synchronization with your favorite Christmas carols. Be sure to watch our video examples as these effects simply defy description.
The Christmas Kit consists of a 16-channel light controller, a Monster Brain to control the show and an MP3 sound controller. Accessories are available to add a virtually unlimited number of lighting channels. With the proper interfaces, you can also control DMX-512 devices (DJ/stage lighting equipment) and even X-10 home automation devices.
Many pre-programmed light and sound shows are available for a nominal fee and the number continues to increase. Lights Alive can custom program shows for your specific needs or you can build your own shows using Animation Director software on your PC. Convince your neighbors to join in the fun and we can link your systems using wireless controllers, effectively creating one show throughout the neighborhood. Neighbors and visitors in their cars can hear your music on their conventional FM radio with the use of our optional FM transmitter.
While we prefer the rich colors, low power consumption and long life of LED lights from Lights Alive, your Christmas Kit will work with your existing Christmas lights as well. Basically, if it has a wire and a light, we can probably control it.

The Christmas Kit Expansion Box
The Christmas Kit Expansion Box adds another 16-channels of lighting control. This can add additional capacity for large quantities of lights. It also allows you to add additional lights in another area with a simple network cable connecting the boxes as opposed to pulling large quantities of extension cords. Out of the box, this Expansion Controller duplicates the original sixteen channels. However, using Animation Director software, you can program an additional sixteen independent channels. You can add up to 255 expansion controllers for a total of 4096 discrete lighting channels! If and when you ever exceed that limit (doubtful), we can show you ways to add even more by using a second Monster Brain.

Animation Director Software
Animation Director (AD) is a totally unique and powerful software application for creating innovative, ever-changing displays. Choose either our grid-based graphical user interface (GUI) or our robust Animation Control Language (ACL) to build your show. Animation Director is the only tool that gives you all the power you need to control lights, music, sounds and special effects to turn your display into a dazzling work of art. Your visitors will experience unparalleled entertainment and leave with a lasting impression they want to share!
Animation Director works directly with the Monster Brain Animation Processor or it can directly manage our series of light controllers including Haunted House In-A-Box Pro and The Christmas Kit. Animation Director can also send X10 signals via a Monster Brain and appropriate power line interface or it can control DMX type DJ/club lighting fixtures with an appropriate DMX controller. AD can control your animated Halloween props through digital input and digital output boards and you can even purchase a servo controller for those custom props having servo motors.
One of the greatest features of AD is “Visualizer”. Simply take a photo of your home or business and upload it to Visualizer. Now you can place simulated light strings within the software and test your newly created show, thus seeing how your show will look before ever installing your lights. Visualizer will even simulate evening or night lighting conditions for a more realistic approximation of your finished project.

EC-4 Controller
We've all had the multi-color Christmas light strings that have built in controllers that offer up to ten (10) chase patters. Unfortunately if more than one string is needed (i.e., a tree or outlining a house), each string is often doing a separate chase pattern, which is annoying and unprofessional. Utilizing the EC-4, you have a variety of sixteen (16) patterns for the four (4) available channels. You can control LED lights, conventional Christmas lights and even rope light. The behavior of all connected lights is identical. With it's built-in microphone, your lights can even chase in time with music. The EC-4 handles up to 300 watts per channel or a total of 1200 watts. If even more power is required, upgrade to the EC-16 controller for 600 watts per channel or a total of about 1,800 watts on a typical 15 amp circuit.

Wireless Controllers
Wireless networking eliminates the need for network cables between the Monster Brain and the various lighting controllers. Depending on configuration and terrain, the range can be from several hundred to a few thousand feet. Wireless is the obvious solution when faced with a roadway or other obstruction that doesn’t make hardwiring the system feasible. With these wireless network controllers, it’s possible to link multiple houses or businesses to form a large display being controlled by a single Monster Brain.
A minimum of one server and one client is needed, but many clients may link to a single server. In other words, many light controllers can be controlled by a single Monster Brain or computer running Animation Director software. Please contact us prior to ordering to discuss your specific application and configuration.
