MANTIS IR Transceiver

Unlike a common passive infrared motion sensor (PIR), the MANTIS IR Transceiver is a  retroreflective active infrared sensor. By pulse-modulating a narrow beam infrared signal generated by the transceiver, which bounces off the subject, false triggers that typically are associated with most IR devices are virtually eliminated.

The MANTIS IR Transceiver’s range is typically 4 to 5 feet and sometimes more, depending on surroundings. No reflector or remote unit is needed, making this sensor perfect for doorways, halls or as a replacement for pressure pads in close proximity to props. As is standard with all MANTIS sensors and triggers, tripping the MANTIS IR Transceiver results in a switch (relay) closure. This device is manufactured in the United States by Lights Alive and is covered by an unprecedented five-year limited warranty.

MANTIS IR Transmitter/Receiver Beam Break Pair

With a minimum range of 25 feet (up to 40 feet under optimum conditions), the two-piece MANTIS IR Beam Break sensor is the ideal solution when reliable long range sensing is needed. Due to the pulse-modulated narrow beam, there is virtually no possibility of false triggers. The very narrow beam must be broken (blocked) for the sensor to trigger.

The receiver connects to any MANTIS controller via the included LADC cable or it can be connected to other brand controllers via a MANTIS adapter. A DC adapter to power the transmitter is included.

LADC Interface Board

The Mantis LADC interface board allows the use of a Mantis intelligent sensor with third-party controllers. It can also be used to power the sensor from a third-party controller or a small power unit, or to power both a controller and sensor from the power unit.

Pressure Mats

Pressure mats are weather-resistant, heavy-duty, and available in three sizes and two varieties (with either the exclusive Lights Alive Direct Connect jack for Mantis controllers, or with stripped and tinned leads for easy use with third-party controllers.

Our pressure mats are adhesive heat sealed and pre-wired, and are ideal for high-traffic areas and indoor-outdoor applications.

Available sizes are 6" x 24", 18" x 24", and 24" x 30". All triggers come with a 15-foot wire and the specified connector. (Photo shown is the 18" x 24" mat)

Hand Triggers

The Mantis hand-held trigger is supplied with two types of cables. A 15’ LADC cable is supplied for connection to any of the Mantis family of controllers or the universal relay. Alternately, this trigger is available with a 15’, 18 gauge cable that has been stripped and tinned for use with 3rd party controllers. While the hand held trigger is rated for up to 3-amps at 120 volt AC (non-LADC version only), we would highly recommend always using a controller or relay so  users are not exposed to dangerous voltages.

Foot Switches

These heavy-duty foot switch triggers, are made of heavy-duty steel, with non-skid base and foot treadle pads, and comes with 15-foot leads. They are available with the exclusive LADC connector, or with stripped and tinned leads. The LADC version includes an LED indicator on the trigger to indicate positive connection with the Mantis family of controllers. (Photo is shown with the LADC connector)

Foot switch triggers are useful when you want an actor to control the operation of a prop or effect, yet still keep their hands free.
